    The Hills are Alive....

    ...with the sound of music.

So...what do you do for relaxation?

    Why do you do it?

Have you ever heard of EFT?  It's free. All you have to do is download the instructions and learn the patterns.

But why? Been to the beach lately? Listened to any music? Meditated? Sat in a Sauna? Done some FIR? Waved your hands at a rock concert or during church? Affected your IOP by creating possibilities (Bleeeeeeep)...

    "The Hills are Alive...."

    Cordially,

    Gruffy

Gruffy, I agree with you that EFT is worth looking into.

     Gruffy,

For relaxation, no Sound of Music for me!   My favorite sound is the the sound of silence.  Just being alone and silent is the best way for me to relax.

By the way, I had posted a month or so ago wanting to know your recipe for that hot chocolate that you carry with you, using the Hershey Cocoa.  Do you use milk?

That's my medicine too,  and especially outside  on the open moorland.  Though sometimes [in the house] the ticking clock is soothing also.

I understood Gruffy to be talking abou the sound of silence too. And I agree with all of you. The sound of silence is what one experiences when one allows the mind to settle down and thoughts to slow down or stop. When thoughts move very slowly or cease altogether, eye pressure goes down. And bliss rises. Alertness and awareness increase. I reach this state of consciousness through Serene Impulse.

P.S. Elizabeth - the sound of a ticking clock isn't what's important in your experience. You are simply using that sound to settle the mind. What is important is that your mind is becoming quiet.

    Re: The Hills are Alive....

    1) Reread the essay. The very light from the hills has an effect on you via your meridia...I enjoy silence, too, but the silence is full of vibrations...notice the mention of a visit to the museum? People would think us silly if we stood in front of Gainsborough's "Blue Boy" painting with our hand outstretched and fingers extended....but...it is light, and beautiful, and light vibrates atoms...just like EFT, only on a much finer scale. Recall, I said, EFT is kinda like tapping the stuck gauge loosen the needle...why not do more fine tuning? I even recall Emerson saying how he loved the silence in church before the service...use your imagination...what vibrations are in that silence? If you looked at the world about you with the eyes of an owl, the light would be nearly blinding...and it happens to be that light that is used to heal, too...(laser therapy), FIR saunas, and, oh, yeah..."full spectrum lights make me feel great"....get the point? Atoms make light by vibrating, and conversely, light makes atoms vibrate.....Then, there is the sound of our night sky...suppose you are out in the peaceful, quiet evening, looking at the Northern Lights...here's the sound of the radio signals "tapping" your body...Aurorae radio/light

    2) Cocoa. Hershey's unsweetened. One Teaspoon full per cup, with just at little shake of Stevia...or, on occasion, one tsp in my 16 thermos with the coffee, and a little shake, &c....makes a sort-a latte... annnnnnnnnnnnd, it makes the atoms vibrate inside you, heh, heh, heh....tastes are a form of EFT, eh ,wot....as are the warm eminations in your tummy, and the slow, inexorable changes of your bodily chemistry brought on by the cocoa chemicals...

Ah, don't you just LOVE quantum Consciousness....all about vibrations, possibilities...

...the "cosmic hum" that is the silence which includes all sounds (in a primordial sense).

    2) Cocoa. Hershey's unsweetened.

FYI, there are alternatives to Hershey's :)

    For example:

    Now Foods (http://www.iherb.com/ProductDetails.aspx?c=1&pid=-6880316379510619313&at=0)

    • 100% Pure and Natural
    • Naturally Rich in Polyphenols

Each 55 calorie serving contains only 2.25 grams of fat, just over 11 grams of carbohydrates, 6.5 grams of dietary fiber, 325 mg of potassium and 5 grams of protein. In addition to its rich, delicious flavor, each serving of non-alkalinized Cocoa Powder naturally contains 21.5-107.5 mg of cocoa flavonols (polyphenols).

Would this be a suitable alternative:

    Re: The Hills are Alive....

I've seen those "nibs" recommended by a number of trustworthy sources, and complimented by trustworthy users,...I just can't afford them myself.

As an aside, I've found that it is very difficult for a person whose source of income is "fixed" to even afford "organics" and other stuff necessary to get well. So I have to use Hershey's myself. One consolation is that I believe I can mentally affect the stuff so it is more beneficial to my body...(as per Dr. Emoto's work)

Gruffy, I believe this too. I think it works both ways. Healthy organic food prepared by someone feeling anger and toxic emotions while preparing the food could potentially be worse than food lovingly prepared with less healthy ingredients.

I personally aim for healthy organic food prepared with love and positive feelings and eaten with appreciation and positive emotions too. Big Smile
