Hooded Eyelids - Possible Connection to High Pressure?

    Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone has done any research on the nature of ones eyelids in relation to a possible cause, or contributing factor to higher than normal eye pressure? In reading different articles I see where eye pressure can spike from just rubbing your eyelids, removing eye makeup, sleeping in a position where your eyelids are touching a pillow, and especially if someone sleeps head down on a pillow.

With my increasing age (now 60) my eyelids have become pretty heavy, also known as Hooded Eyes.  Hmmmm?  In thinking about this I started to wonder if anyone has done any research on the shape, weight, of the eyelid. Do people with glaucoma tend to have a more hooded eye, causing more weight on the eye itself?

Wow -- Just think!  Supposing that it were true, how many of us could get our eye pressure under control just by having the simple, upper eye lid surgery to decrease the pressure?

Thought I'd throw my idea out to see if anyone has given this any thought.

    Hi Svenska,

I have in the past noticed that blepharitis seemed to lead to increase in IOP.
