pigment dispersion syndrome

Submitted by Agnes on Fri, 08/14/2009 - 6:22pm

Make sure your doctor tells you if you have glaucoma with pigmen dispersion syndrome.  I just learned that yesterday. And I have seen a few doctors in the past.  Noone told me about that.  This is when the pigments of the iris are dropping into the back  chamber of the eyes due to friction between iris and lens.  To make it simple.  PDS  can dispappear with age in certain people or it can progress to glaucoma pigmentosa.   During the evacuation of the pigments, the trabecular clogs and the pression goes up.  The treatment is the same than open angle glaucoma but you have to be carefull with certain exercises.  It seems according to some readings that you cannot jog, jump or run or you'll make things make worst. Who knows where the truth is really.
