Choosing an Eye Doctor

Generally, unless someone has been seeing an ophthalmologist for some other eye condition, it is usually a routine appointment to one's optometrist where one would receive a diagnosis and then be referred for treatment of glaucoma. So the general progression, depending on severity and needs are: Optometrist > Ophthalmologist > Glaucoma Specialist (fellowship trained if possible).
