My mother aged 71 years had been diagnosed for Glaucoma 7 years ago post which she diligently used the eye drops recommended by the doctor. Over the years, the doctor routinely examined her and confirmed to her that the IOP was within the normal range of 12-20. Despite this, her vision started failing slowly and in a recent Field Vision test, it was noticed that the optic nerve in the Left eye was beyond repair while there was still some hope in the right eye. She also had Cataract in the right eye. The IOP also had risen in both eyes to around 25-30 ( depending on which machine is used to take the IOP). Hence she was advised to go in for an operation in the right eye for both cataract and Glaucoma. She was operated on 30th April 09. Its more than a month now and she does not seem to have got back her original vision (limited vision as was present prior to the operation). While the doctor has confirmed in post operative examinations that the bleb and the eye are perfectly normal , she claims that she cannot see anything beyond 2 feet. Also most times of the day & especially in the evenings ( when darkness sets in outside the house), she starts to see all articles and human beings in colors such as dark bottle green , black, brown etc . she is unable to make out faces of people and can only see an outline of that person. Can you please let me know what we need to do next or whether this is normal for any person to face these problems post an operation for about 4-6 weeks. ?
