I have strong evidence that I exhibit a white coat syndrome for intraocular pressure (eye pressure). First, let me provide some background on white coat syndrome.

I am using Timolet 0.5% from last two years. it keep constant my eye pressure to 17 -19 on both eye. If I use it twice..it keeping 13 around on both eyes.
I've written several articles about the very clear relationship between my eye pressure and my stress levels. As I pointed out (in the comments to that article), the standard medical opinion is that stress does not affect eye pressure (intraocular pressure).
If you are continuing to experience deterioration of your optic nerve in spite of having low eye pressure (such as normal tension glaucoma - also called low tension glaucoma), you may find this information very interesting. In fact, I think all glaucoma patients who have any progressing optic nerve damage should have their eye pressure monitored during the night (ideally while they sleep at home in familiar surroundings).
Working with my medical team, I have recorded tens of thousands of eye pressure measurements with a variety of tonometers under a variety of conditions. This blog post describes a recent comparison we performed between the Reichert AT555 (a non-contact tonometer or NCT) we use for most eye pressure measurements and Goldman applanation tonometry (GAT) performed by one of the doctors on my medical team. I believe our data indicates that the Reichert AT555 tonometer does an excellent job.

I had certain expectations for my IOP values today. I expected the values to be lower in my right eye. I thought I had done the same things I did around the period of November 10th or 11th. On those days (and some preceding days), my IOP in my right eye was closer to 15. It may be that the difference in IOP is related to my schedule for using Timoptic in my right eye, or it may be due to something else I have not noticed. What I am sure of is that I can adjust things to get my IOP back down to 15 without too much difficulty.
Today's measurements were all taken with the Reichert NCT II. They are all means (averages). For each IOP exam, at each of the 5 times reported in the table below, multiple measurements were taken for each eye. The table below shows 5 IOP values for each eye (for a total of 10 IOP values). These values actually consist of the means of 31 individual IOP measurements. The individual measurements are not shown (in order to make the presentation of the data clearer).
Here are today's IOP values. For a period of time, I will simply work with the experts to understand the process and the instruments. The more interesting things will begin once we have the procedures down pat.
