Fish Oils For Vision

Submitted by dave on Tue, 10/30/2007 - 11:58am

Your omega-3 fish oil products may be too low in DHA. Or contain rancid oils and pollutants. Whatever the case is, you want to be sure that you are fully benefiting from your fish oil supplement. Here you can read Dave's advice for selecting a DHA or Omega-3 supplement for the eyes.

Supplement, herbs, alternative medines to lower IOP and regenerate eye nere cells

Submitted by pmpvip on Sat, 10/27/2007 - 6:12pm

I need immidiate suggestions on the alternative medicines from aruvedic, chinese or herbal or nutrional area which are very helpful

(1) In reducing IOP in glaucoma

 (2) Recover and regenerate nerve cells in the eye that are damaged in eye due to glucoma.

I know they may be spread along several post, but I wanted to start most effective supplements immidiately So I need names, how much we should take and where you can buy that on internet. I have not seen any Special Glaucoma Supplement in drug stores.

I should wait little more for drops to work or go for Trablculectomy immidiately?

Glorious Illuminating Glaucoma

Submitted by dave on Tue, 10/23/2007 - 10:57pm

Over the last year I have been telling my friends and my wife that I'm finding enlightenment though high-frequency intraocular pressure research and self-tonometry. For a while my wife watched me monitor my intraocular pressure up to one hundred times a day (or even two hundred) and she thought I was focused on glaucoma and the disease. My wife understands The Great Secret and The Law of Attraction and naturally she was concerned - she didn't want me focusing on disease.

Thinking About Eye Pressure

Submitted by dave on Mon, 10/22/2007 - 11:48am

Let us celebrate and enjoy everything that comes into our lives. Everything comes for a reason (and the reason is usually that, on some level, we have created all the situations in our life). So whether we are dealing with glaucoma or another health issue or another life issue, we should own it, claim it, bless it and even be thankful for it.

Ocular Hypertension Journey

Submitted by Nancy on Fri, 10/19/2007 - 5:20pm

Greetings to everyone at the end of this lovely autumn day ~

I've documented much of my 30 years with ocular hypertension and will be sharing this information and my experiences in this blog.

My name is Nancy and I was diagnosed with ocular hypertension 30 years ago. At that time, actually, elevated pressures were synonymous with glaucoma. In retrospect, that may have been a good thing. I took all of this very seriously from the beginning.

Pressure II and what is more to say on IOP???

When writing on altitude I was surprised to see the influence on barometric pressure and researched the web a bit more.

I did find some more information on altitude:

and stating completely the opposite:

Pressure

Submitted by Marcel on Sun, 09/23/2007 - 7:32pm

Hello,

As mentioned I will discuss pressure today. I have a mechanical engineering background and process pressures is one of the parameters I work with every day.

The intraocular pressure of an eye, IOP, is measured in mmHg which stands for millimetre Mercury column. In the old days barometers were U shaped glass tubes filled with Mercury and the height of the Mercury indicated barometric pressure.

Introduction

Hello,

May I introduce myself to people who do not yet know me:

I am a man of 45, live in The Netherlands, I am self employed, married with one daughter of 15 still at home.
I am a patient of Prof. Dr. Hans Lemij of the  Rotterdam Eye Hospital.

I have been diagnosed with Pigmentary Dispersion Syndrome and early stage glaucoma early 2006.

Mid March 2007 Dr. Lemij performed a Peripheral Iridotomy both eyes.

Pressure Sensors in the Eye

Much of my focus has been on high-frequency monitoring of intraocular pressure with currently available technology. The current standard in ophthalmology practice seems to be monitoring intraocular pressure at a frequency of once every three to twelve months, depending on specific patient factors. In contrast, my research efforts look at what is possible when intraocular pressure is monitored as frequently as hundreds of times per day for many consecutive days.

Relationship Between Fear and Elevated Intraocular Pressure

Submitted by dave on Mon, 09/17/2007 - 10:39pm

Elevated intraocular pressure can be classified as a condition characterized by resistance and contraction. The intraocular fluid cannot flow from the eye freely because there is resistance in one or both of the main drainage areas. This resistance creates elevated pressure inside the eye.
